Creating and Signing apps on Windows with Developer Account for free!

If you guys have not heard of MacBuildServer.com then allow me to introduce you to this 'method'.

MacBuildServer is a very awesome service, stopped by Apple, but it still works to date. And speaking of date, you need to tweak your settings a bit in order for it to work. Not too much work, literally just a basic trick.

Here is a video for you guys that will explain what exactly I mean, I apologize for the inconvenience of the my hand covering my iPhone Mic. :o

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mly_AcM9YyY&feature=player_embedded

Now, you do need the developer account of the certificates in order to publish or test your apps on your jailed phone (non-jailbroken). I personally am a huge jailbreak fan because it just opens up new gates to the iOS and the Phone (or any other iDevice). With that being said, say you made a game with Construct 2 and you were planning on releasing it to the appstore, guess what! You are in luck!

Via this method you can obviously have certain clients test your application and then afterwards what you can do is get a Macintosh OS X copy and run it in VMware! Now I hate to say you can pirate them both but if you have the money and resources, do buy yourself a Macintosh OS copy. Obviously if your game is good and if you would generate more money, you would (I hope) buy an Apple Computer.

So yep.

If you guys have any questions about running Mac in VMware, then just comment below and you will get yourselves a full 100% noob guide to running Macintosh on your Windows or Linux Computer! :)

Thanks for reading guys!

[Tutorial] Construct 2 - Making a classic shooting game walkthrough & publishing to the appstore

Making a game is easy. Piece of cake if you will. Even though I don't like cakes, I still like to use this line a lot ;)

Anyways, recently I have been following a little guy's tutorial on how to make a basic HTML5 game that is remaking classic 1945 Shooting game in HTML5. Its a pretty cool experience since he knows that you are a beginner watching his video and he will walk you through and explain every bit of Construct 2. I personally love his tutorials because they explain every function of Construct 2 that he puts his cursor on.

HTML5 games are easy to make and even easier to export using Construct 2. Before you wonder how exactly this will be converted into an app then my answer is that you need to pay Apple before you can use the entire 'app' making process. Notice how I didn't say game though. You can still make the game and test it over Wi-Fi and for that you are gonna need the paid version of Construct 2.

Why pay?

Its simple, the reason why you are learning how to make apps is because you wanna make some money off it. Now there are multiple ways to make money off your app and release it for free. If you are thinking ads, then you have hit the Jackpot. Ads are what runs the game now. This is the reason why you should probably invest into a Mac and get the developer account from Apple for 100 dollars. In the end, if you are motivated, the investment will pay off! I have seen so many articles of games being made by 13 or 17 year old little dudes or gals, and they are millionaires.

My dad says, "Money is not hard to earn because its up to you work hard for it, however, spending it and saving it is a true skill".

What if I don't have enough money for a Mac but I got $100 dollars for a developer account?

Well, look into Hackintoshing and running Mac OS X (whatever) on VMWare. The point is that you need Xcode and after you get the developer account, you get two certificates that you need to install on your iOS Device after you have built the app in Xcode (Construct 2 or google has the instruct to do so, use Export feature in Construct 2). You need to add your UDID to the data-base but that's not what I am concentrating on. I am trying to convince you all that just make the game. Don't worry about publishing it and making money off it until you have tested the app yourself. Afterwards, everything is gonna be a piece of cake. :)

Recording iPhone/iPod/iPad screens without jailbreaking or needing a computer!

If you guys came here through my channel which is http://www.youtube.com/igameshelper123 then you know that I have posted a video about getting Display Recorder app. That was not really a solution or an alternative to getting Display Recorder as if you are jailbroken you can probably get the of from Ryan Petrich (http://ryanpetri.ch). Recently, I got a comment on my channel from a kid (literally) and he linked to a site which is gonna be listed below. Basically what this site does is list bunch of very nerdy apps for iOS that were available through Cydia. Most people get paranoid about jailbreaking (probably because of the name and rumors) but in reality jailbreak does nothing but actually frees you. Think about it Jail-breaking... Apple's iOS is a closed source Operating System therefore you can't really do much on it officially, therefore an alternative was found by Jay Freeman, the mastermind behind Cydia.

Anyways without further or due, go to the site http://adf.ly/R2d4s
No computer needed, btw. Just go to this link on your iDevice.

Afterwards just tap the app you want to get and it will be installed.

REMEMBER: YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE JAILBROKEN!!! :D And all apps work, I have tested them  myself.

If you get a pop-up asking you to confirm then I can bet that you have never seen that pop-up before. Don't worry about it, its harmless and it will not show after first launch. :)

I hope you guys enjoy and subscribe to the blog or I don't know... Bookmark it? I post as soon as I find stuff!

HowTo: Make a game for iPhone/iPod/iPad with HTML5!

Hey guys. I know you guys have probably heard of this method before and to make a perfect game you need to know some kind of experience in Objective + Or C#/C++ or whatever the heck else. Well, I am here to tell you that there is a way around it!

Say hello to your new friend then.

Construct 2

Apparently, you do not need knowledge of coding at all. Well maybe a little bit but that could be looked up and understood in minutes via google which will most likely lead you to http://www.scirra.com - This site is truly amazing and the creator of the program has really made it easier for the games to be developed. Search youtube around for a couple of Construct 2 tutorials and I would actually make the game they are making and then experiment with making iPhone/iPod/iPad games. Its not hard its just simple. You just have to put your time into it just like coding, except you are assembling how the game is gonna execute. Its pretty much just like directing a film, except in your case, you are directing a game execution process.

Think of it how the computers work. The computers can do everything and anything, they just have to be told what and when to do something. I will have a tutorial coming soon of making a simple iPhone game but I just discovered this program myself (even though its been around for quite some time now). I didn't believe it until I actually saw a game published in the appstore via this program. Well there are steps after the game is all good and ready to go but don't worry resources have you covered! After you create the game on Windows or Linux, you can use VMware to publish to the appstore. God knows what other alternatives there are but when I come across it, I will post about it and let everyone know! :)

If you are having trouble understanding how everything in Construct 2 works than go to  http://adf.ly/QzrdF and just follow it and actually read it!!!

Why Hackintosh Your Old PC?

I have always wanted to Hackintosh my laptop which is old and pretty much useless since its screen is broken and so is the keyboard.

What I have been wanting to do with it is not just throw it away, I am gonna run hackintosh it! :D Hackintoshing old computers that are capable of being hackintosh gives the computer a new life. How, one might ask... Well... Windows is quite boring, and we all are aware of that, unless you are a programmer who knows how to make good windows program and stuff then its a complete different story. For an average person who needs motivation to start coding, its pretty hard to even think about possibilities.

Allow me to tell you what I think of hackintoshing. Its pretty much like you can learn how to make apps for iDevices and Mac itself and make money off it. The reason why I like Macs is because there is more to do on it for the devices they have made whereas Windows is just windows... You make windows apps and maybe windows phone apps but its not that exciting.

Cash is king, is what everyone says and that's right. You just need to find ways to get it and its not hard to earn cash, especially with technology nowadays. Think about advertisements. If a big company came to your house, knocking, asking if they can put an ad on your house (obviously you would say no but its an example) for millions or maybe thousands of dollars? Would you say yes or no? Tough question eh? It almost happened to my dad, except the guy who was responsible for answering the question wasn't 'available' at the that time and we lost the contract. My dad was pissed because the next empty lot got the contract and they are just sitting on their butts making money...

Choices are simple, learn how to make apps [simple apps] and then release them to the appstore for free and put ads on there... Obviously now once your name is out there after first release, depending on your stats of the previous release, make the second app paid. And please don't rely on apples in store purchase, make the app connect to your server for a secured transaction that will be hack free. :)

Check out http://www.tonymacx86.com for more details on Hackintoshing and get started today!!!

iWeb-Wrapper! The best iFrame App Like Alternative!

I know the title sounds a little funky but so its hard to describe an "app" name when the name itself describes its purpose. Basically, instead of creating an app using SRH script and having it load up pages through iFrame... NO NEED TO DO THAT ANYMORE! Behold, iWeb-Wrapper!

This 'method' turns your website into an app, so if your website is mobile compatible or it has HTML5 content (say a game), then you have created an app by only creating a website. The best part about this little method is that you just have to put the address of your site into the text file and the app loads that address like a browser except its an app!

If you have ever come across an app named iMobsters which is available in the appstore, it pretty much does the same thing, except that app is Objective C and worked on. But then again, Storm8 (creator of iMobsters) is a company and they go hard since its a business and you can too but you can too, you just have to work on it.

Here is a video of me walking ya through it :) Comment, Like, Share, and... Subscribe!!! :)

HTML5 Games on iPhone/iPod/iPad as a Native App!

Alright, I know I have been absent for a while but I was actually experimenting with a 'trick'. I was trying to download HTML5 games from an HTML5 games site and link to it through my basic html code:

 "<a href="game.htm" Click to Play </a>"

It didn't exactly work and I am somewhat glad it doesn't because this would be just another step in protecting your game. When you do download an HTML5 game, to the extent that I have tried, I was receiving errors.

This is what happened when I launched the app, obviously the current 0.34 version of the script uses the html files and I linked the file to see if it even loads the page, but it did not.

Now, I used a PC to download the entire page (And I do not know how to download the HTML5 game since it has image files).

So yup, that is pretty much what I have been up to in the development for iOS through HTML5 / Web designing languages.

There was a report that there was a bug in IPA Installer app which is developed using the SRH Script but since slug himself made it, its a little advanced and this brings me to my next point.

The next version of the SRH Script will be very secured because the HTML files will not be visible to the users. Please do remember that everything is in beta and for educational use only. If you are looking forward into going in-depth  with your app, consider learning more languages unless you know how you will be secured through the web languages. :)

Update!!!

Sorry for being absent, first. Quick Update: There was a bug in the script which has been fixed. It has been fixed and be prepared for awesome features that will improve the entire script! :) Also I am getting a new computer therefore when I do get it I will be more active! I have got tons of stuff for yoh guys! :)

SRH Apps BLOG!!!

Alright! This is a very exciting post for me as the official SRH APPS blog has been created for you guys!

Now, I am not an admin or responsible for updating the blog, its for release info on slugrail's work so I would definitely check it everyday! The previous free host always gave us troubles as the page or the site itself would be down all of the time due to some CPU limit... The most ridiculous thing ever but then money talks and they probably seek money so whatevz, we got a better one now! :)

Anyways, so the info on 0.6X script has been revealed so get going onto the site you guys!!!

http://srh-apps.blogspot.com/

This does not mean you guys shouldn't be coming back to this blog. -.- If you ain't goin be back, imma getcha! lol just kidding, I will be posting about more tricks and stuff like that or the best easy way to develop apps and tutorials, you know thats what I am here for.

Please, do not be a grammar nazi as I know I have made some terrible grammar mistakes in this post. Just a little exhausted and tired! GO GO GO !!!

Developing iPhone/iPod/iPad games on Windows/Linux with HTML5

Alrighty guys, I wasn't feeling good so I rushed through the video but I will try to mention anything important that I should have mentioned in the video in text here. :)

First thing is first, there is no doubt about how smooth the render of the game was or is, if you tried it yourself. Every time I talk to slugrail about creating a game for iOS using HTML5 etc, he always suggests me to learn Object Orientated Language first. And I thought, if I had to learn a OOL then why not start with Objective C?! At first, I doubted I could learn it, but then with motivational talk with slugrail and realizing how I was thinking, I figured I just had to be determined and just do it!

Anyways, the languages that you should start off learning with are HTML and JavaScript. I highly recommend using http://www.code.org/ to get started as there are very interactive tutorials on sites like codeacademy to help you fully understand the meaning of each function and how to use them. Creating a game might seem simple, but the way we are choosing (probably a hard way) is going to help us. My parents always told me, "Whatever is hard to do in life, always pays you off later". I sorta always lived by it and made it rule to follow. This applies to everyone while learning programming because it always makes you focus on your goal a little bit more.

I am sure by the time you have mastered the necessary languages to create your own games, the SRH Script will be ready to be released without that annoying popup and the ability to publish to the app store! But lets not aim for the moon while are still noobs (you [the beginners] and I).

I have come across a very powerful yet simple program called Construct 2 (you will need to find tutorials on it yourself as I haven't had time to explore it yet). Via this program you can simply use drag and drop function and create a simple game. Of course there are ways to get the program free, but I would buy it because of the awesomeness put into it.

If you think the popup is annoying, then send me a snapshot of your project and the binary (the file with no extension in the app.app folder. I will forward it to slugrail and have him remove the popup. I appreciate everyone enjoying this method and or learning from it!

Remember: You cannot publish it to the appstore due to the script containing 'extra' layers with special functions which means Apple will most likely reject them. So does this mean you cannot create the game without the layer? Hell yes you can! I am actually going to talk to slugrail to create a template without the 'extra' layer so that we know the difference.

Thank you guys for reading, watching the video and all the good stuff. Below are the links to the resources that I mentioned in the video or here. :)

Getting Started with Programming and TIPS! - iOS Development on Windows without Xcode!

As many of you might have already noticed that I have not written about any updates (although I am keeping up with them and so far everything, as far as the script is concerned, is being developed). I wanted to tell you all that in the mean time we can take advantage of the window we have open to learn coding. I have found the single most easiest way to do so. If you are keeping up with my blog posts, you will realize that I have mentioned code.org in my last post. Let me get in depth with it today.

http://www.code.org/ is a portal which allows you to go to other websites who have interactive tutorials on how to code. Now these are not just any tutorials, they actually have a lesson on the left and a 'assignment' area on the right (At least the one I use the most, which is the codeacademy link). Regardless of how poor you are at programming, you can still learn a lot of the site. For example, if you have never ever even thought about coding before, I would actually start visiting youtube links. I remember when I wanted to learn how to make websites, I was absolutely stunned to find out how easy it was to get started and I am going to link you to those videos...

HTML Tutorial 1 - Designing A Website In Notepad - Basics and Beginnings

That YouTube link is basically for those who are absolutely new to programming. What this will do for you is get your brain to start thinking of how exactly programming languages work. Now, keep in mind that every programming language is different. After you have learned the basics, I would suggest you visit code.org and visit codeacademy afterwards to start learning JavaScript because this will help you out big time in achieving your goals.

Now lets talk about goals... The main purpose behind SRH Script is to allow developers to use their existing knowledge and or talent of programming to develop for iOS. It is clear that iOS is the fastest growing platform with every kind of app possible. But along that awesomeness there are limits that Apple has as far as development is concerned. This method of developing does not hurt the terms of Apple and if you don't know what I mean, then let me speak clear English to ya. If you develop an awesome app using SRH Script, you can actually launch it in the AppStore!

Now the script has few extra enhanced features that Apple does not really like, but it will definitely be possible in the near future (fingers crossed for that) and I know that because I ask Mr. Slug ;)

Keep up with my blogs to find out what more you can do besides use jQuery to create website based app. ;)

As slug stated on the script page, I am a beginner myself and I am learning. This is the reason I have not been writing lately because I am either at school, work or learning at codeacademy... Also, past week was very tragic for me. My laptop broke. :( Without a computer I feel incomplete because it stops me from reaching all of you and especially FACEBOOK!!! Just kidding, its annoying. I do love to inform you guys of everything and laptop or not, I still got school computers to reach you all or I shall hijack my Moms computer (aka my old computer) to reach you all..

Be safe, learn and innovate! And remember this... If you are not determined, you will never be able to learn!
If you are distracted then stop learning because you will read and do what the exercises ask you to, but you will not remember them because your brain isn't focusing on 'learning'.

See ya in the next blog post! Comment your questions and I shall answer to the best of my knowledge and I am gonna try to get slug to answer your questions as well.

The not-so-serious FAQ:

1. I have questions about the script how do I contact slug?!

I must say, I have a lot more to say at this point (3/13/13) but when the time is right, the power of the script will be explained! And slug is wayy to busy to answer any questions on this stage of the script but ask me, I am not a complete newb, he gave me a brief description of the script which I can explain to you. :)

2. What do you mean by determined?

When you are learning something new, the window of your brain to let all the knowledge data in is closed. It is all up to you to open it up and let all the data in so that you can use it when he window closes. Nothing is impossible, you can even put toothpaste back into the tube if you tried! Think positive! Remember, an Apple a day makes you healthy, or something like that. ;)

Easiest way to learn to code!

I was fooling around facebook and what do you know, the creator of facebook shared a video. It was about learning how to code and how him along with other creators of programs and machines used on daily basis were made. Simply, if you have the power to generate an idea and you know how to code, there is nothing in the world that can stop you from making that thought a reality in the cyber world. Cyber World is a world where there are less rules and freedom of every kind. Obviously basic rules still apply, its part of the nature, or in this case "Cyber Nature". So without further blabber, I proudly introduce http://www.code.org/ Its friendly environment and real class like features are just astonishing. If you have no idea what a programming language is, it will start you off by teaching you what it is. Recently, I introduced you guys to iOS development on PC/Linux or Mac without Xcode... Today, I link you to another great aspect of the Cyber World by linking you to code.org I hope you guys learn a lot from the site and may you be one of the future programming wizard. :) Link: http://www.code.org

iPhone/iPod/iPad Development on Windows/Linux - Executing MobileTerminal Commands with JavaScript

Alright, so if you have not yet watched or read the previous video/post then you really need to understand and watch it first.

In this "continued" discovery of creating apps for iPhone/iPod/iPad with SRH Script on Windows/Linux I will quickly go through how to execute native commands of iOS using JavaScript. It is basically done by the same way you would have a JavaScript script execute on the web. You create the <script> tag and make its functions and stuff and have it executed by an action...

We do the same thing, except when we are executing an action, we use button (for this tutorial).

**If you do not have knowledge of JavaScript, it is easy to learn and you should probably be watching some tutorials.**

This video will do the rest of the job explaining as it gives you more info and shows you a demo of the commands being executed.

iPhone development on Windows / Linux with HTML/CSS/JAVASCRIPT ETC. (+ SRH APPS)

Unfortunately, you need to use a jailbroken iDevice in order for this method to work, but still!  I think this is a very big accomplishment achieved by my very good friend Slugrail (his online name).

I have made a video tutorial for you guys  (link below) which will help you guide through the creation of your very first app! Again, I am disappointed that Apple does not support this by default but I am sure I will find a way to somehow work around having to go through this process.

Using SRH Script, you can actually implement any coding language you have experienced into the HTML files... This basically means that say you memorized JavaScript, then there is no telling what you can create with this app as it does support JavaScript/HTML5/CSS.

How exactly does this app gonna work?

Well the answer is easy and self explanatory. Since you are creating HTML files, the app will navigate to HTML files thus creating a UI of an app and producing real smooth pages that are easily coded. :)

Why doesn't Apple approve of this?

If you know JavaScript, you know that if your app is based on SRH and has JavaScript, you can create some scary apps that will mess your iDevice up, but then again the solution is to test the app and then forward it.

Of course, every single thing humans have ever built have gone through testing stages and a lot of painful failures and success. Nothing is accomplished perfectly without failures, this is one natural law in my eyes that tell us that "Perfection" does not exist. There are always bugs in anything made to the date. I am not stating a negative opinion or pointing you in a negative direction, but I am telling you that do not be disappointed if something you want to do doesn't work out the way you want it to.

Innovate my friends!

Questions will be answered, Apple will bow to this method... All will happen soon. Join the dark side Apple, you will see so many bright ideas that are brighter than the sun to erode away the darkness (aka viruses or bugs in iOS) ;) - ShakeSpear

GAWD I AM SUCH A POET.

Anyways, with hatred and love, enjoy the work of Slugrail and have fun!

WELCOME!!!

Hey guys, I just started learning how to make apps for iPhone and what other way to make them without any  hardcore experience in Objective C or any other programming languages. I am literally a beginner and sometimes the tutorials I watch or do, will be revealed to you. The reason why I started this blog is because I don't just use the templates given and live off them, I learn something until I memorize every aspect of it and then if for some reason I don't understand what I am trying to learn then I will try different methods. Every single method, my friends, will be explained to you. On blog there will be written tutorials and then on YouTube there will be video tutorials explaining the content of whatever we are working on.

Currently I am only focusing on iPhone development through HTML and other web designing languages but later on we will expand. Some of the methods might even be compatible with Android OS, iOS, etc.

So yup, this is a welcome page, and I hope I get to see y'all more often! :)
